Union Information

Correctional Security employees have the option of joining the Wyoming Association of Correctional Employees (WACE). Participation is optional and dues are minimal. Our correctional Security employees do not operate under a union contract. Wyoming is a right-to-work state which prohibits labor-management agreements that require a person to join a union as a condition of employment. Participation or non-participation in WACE in no way affects an employee’s rights of employment. All State of Wyoming employees are subject to State of Wyoming Personnel Rules. The Wyoming Department of Corrections does provide reasonable access by employee organizations and their representatives to meet with employees of corrections institutions within the confines of the institutions.
