Welcome to the Division of Prisons

 

The Division of Prisons is responsible for the supervision control, safety, work and custody of incarcerated felons located in four state-operated correctional facilities, privately-run adult community corrections facilities, and out-of-state placements. A fifth state correctional facility, the Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution, a medium security men’s prison, is slated to be completed in early 2010 in Torrington.

The division is also charged with overseeing all prison treatment programs, adult and vocational education, correctional industries, and medical and mental health services.
