West Central Wardens & Superintendents Meet in Saratoga in mid-September

The West Central Wardens and Superintendents Association is holding its 60th annual conference September 14-17, at the Saratoga Resort and Spa, Saratoga, Wyoming. Featured on the program are Dr. Caterina Spinaris Tudor, founder and Executive Director of Desert Waters Correctional Outreach; Professor Lawrence Hubbell of the University of Wyoming; and Carbon County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Cal Rerucha. Expected attendance is approximately 40 participants.

The West Central Wardens and Superintendents Association is a professional group dedicated to the advancement of sound correctional practice and principles. The association serves as a clearinghouse for the exchange of ideas and information among and between members. It assists and promotes individual awareness of current correctional trends, and enhances the leadership and management skills of its members as professional correctional administrators. The majority of the membership has come from the West-Central region of the United States; however, wardens and superintendents from throughout the United States and Canada have attended.

Mike Murphy, warden of the Wyoming Medium Correctional Center in Torrington, Wyoming, serves as this year’s president. Jessica Symmes, warden of the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Oak Park Heights, Stillwater, Minnesota is vice president.
