Wyoming Department of Corrections Director, Bob Lampert, has announced that the WDOC has renewed its contract with Prison Health Services, Inc. to provide health care for all inmates in department custody in Wyoming for an additional two years. PHS has been serving the WDOC since July 1, 2005 and the new contract becomes effective July 1, 2008.
The contract renewal will bring expanded services for inmates with dual diagnosis and special needs. Under the contract, PHS will provide a comprehensive inmate healthcare program, including medical, mental health, dental, vision and special needs.
“We are particularly pleased with PHS’s Chronic Care Tracking Program and its potential to further enhance inmate care and services, said Director Lampert. “PHS has worked closely with the department to help all our facilities maintain accreditation through the National Commission on Correctional Health Care.”
“We are gratified to have the opportunity to continue our relationship with the Wyoming DOC,” said Rich Hallworth, PHS President. “We’ve worked hard together in a partnership to continually improve our already outstanding clinical care and cost effective services. We are fortunate to have a Wyoming native, Roland (Rolly) Maldonado, continue as our PHS Regional Administrator assigned to manage the Wyoming contract.”
