Services and Programs
Wyoming Department of Corrections uses many tools to protect the public by providing viable alternatives and meaningful supervision of our offenders. Self-help programs, including education and vocational training, are offered to all offenders. Completion of high school is highly stressed. Services such as medical and mental health care are mandated by court rulings and are considered sound, humane corrections practice. Some programs, including public works, not only benefit offenders by giving them real-world job experiences, they also serve the communities.
Placement in a community corrections program enables, or requires, an offender to maintain employment or continue educational training while receiving alcohol, drug, or other treatment in his or her own community.
